Third-party widgets - chat, WhatsApp and analytics

Besides content and login integrations, your institution can turn on a few third-party widgets directly in the settings, with no change to the platform’s code required.

Institution’s Configuration tab, with the Use Movidesk integration, Use Hotjar integration and other options

Turn on Use Movidesk integration and enter the Movidesk App ID to show the Movidesk chat widget on your institution’s pages. Movidesk itself recommends positioning the chat on the left side, 35px from the footer - adjust that in the widget’s own settings, on Movidesk’s side.

Turn on Use Zendesk integration and enter the Zendesk Widget Key to show the Zendesk support widget on your institution’s pages. The key is in the Zendesk Admin Center, under Channels > Messaging and social > Web Widget: without it the widget doesn’t load.

The Zendesk widget appears in the same corner as the Edu Assistant. When both are on, the platform shifts the Edu bubble over so both stay clickable, instead of one covering the other.

Besides the email support icon (an envelope), you can show up to 4 contact icons on the login screen: WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and X / Twitter. Fill in the matching field on the institution’s settings tab and the icon appears automatically next to the login form - leave it blank to hide any of them.

  • WhatsApp Number: opens a WhatsApp conversation with the number provided.
  • Instagram, Facebook, X / Twitter: open the provided URL in a new tab.

This lets someone who isn’t a participant yet reach your support, or find the institution’s social networks, before signing in to the platform.

Turn on Use Hotjar integration and enter the Hotjar Site ID to enable usage tracking with Hotjar on the platform’s pages - useful for observing how participants navigate the storefront and the content.

Turn on Use Google Tag Manager and enter the GTM Container ID to load your institution’s container on every screen of the platform and receive the learning events in your dataLayer. Unlike the widgets above, this integration publishes events that you configure in your own container - see Google Tag Manager for the list of events and what is never sent.

Turn on Use Assistive to enable, on the platform’s pages, the third-party script provided by Assistive.

  • Only turn on the widgets your institution actually uses: every loaded script is one more request in the participant’s browser.
  • Keep the IDs and keys (Movidesk, Zendesk, Hotjar, Google Tag Manager) in the same place where you document the institution’s other integrations - they do not appear masked on the configuration screen.
  • Avoid turning on Zendesk and Movidesk at the same time: the help button can only open one of the two (Zendesk takes priority) and the participant ends up seeing two support channels on the same screen.
