How to validate a certificate
Every certificate issued by Eduvem has a verification code that lets anyone confirm the document is genuine - with no login needed. Whoever received a certificate can share this code with anyone who needs to check it: an employer, a hiring company, an auditor.
The verification code
Section titled “The verification code”The code has 16 characters, in the format XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. It appears:
- Printed on the certificate itself, together with a QR code and the address to validate at (Validate at…), when the certificate carries that information.
- On the Certificates tab of your profile, and on the certificate card inside the completed content. See Issue and download certificates.
How to validate a certificate
Section titled “How to validate a certificate”- Scan the QR code printed on the certificate with your phone’s camera, or open the address shown next to it (Validate at…).
- On the page that opens, type the 16-character verification code.
- The platform shows the result right away.
When typing the code, uppercase, lowercase and dashes make no difference. The letters O, I and L are read as the numbers 0, 1 and 1, to avoid typing mistakes.
What the verification page shows
Section titled “What the verification page shows”- Authentic Certificate - the participant’s name, the content, the completion date and the workload. When the content has a validity period, it also shows whether it is still valid, about to expire, or already expired (Expired). For Regulatory Standard (NR) certificates, also the place and format of the training, the instructor and their qualification, the technical responsible and, when the certificate was digitally signed, the notice digitally signed (ICP-Brasil).
- Authentic certificate - holder data removed (LGPD). - the certificate is genuine, but the holder’s data was removed, for example after the account was deleted (in line with Brazil’s LGPD). For Regulatory Standards (NR) certificates, the institution keeps a copy of the document for the period the institution has set and can confirm it: anyone who needs more information, including the holder, must direct the request to the company (the controller).
- Awaiting Signature - an NR certificate still awaiting the participant’s or the technical responsible’s signature.
- Revoked Certificate - the person is no longer certified, for a reason other than expiration - for example, the content or the evaluation was redone, or the score was revised and the result no longer passes.
- Certificate Superseded - there is a more recent issuance of the same certificate; this code no longer applies.
- Invalid code - the code typed does not pass its own format check; this is almost always a typo. Check the code on the certificate and try again.
- Not found - the code is well formed, but does not match any certificate issued by that institution. Each code is only valid on the address of the institution that issued the certificate - check that you are on the right address.
The page itself asks whoever is checking to confirm that the name and date match the paper or PDF certificate being presented.
