How progress is calculated

Each enrollment carries a progress percentage (0 to 100) and a life-cycle state: Not started, In progress, or Completed.

The percentage is never entered manually: the platform derives it from the actual consumption of the content. As the participant advances, the player (of the modular content or of the SCORM package) reports the interactions, and the platform recalculates the percentage from what was actually completed.

  • In modular contents, each module has its own advancement, consolidated into an overall progress for the content.
  • In SCORM, what the package itself reports is what counts - which is why a badly exported package can “stall” the progress; test before publishing (see LMS standards).

The participant’s state is saved continuously: when they come back - even on another device or browser - they resume from the point where they stopped.

When the percentage reaches 100% and the participant has been approved in the class’s mandatory evaluations, the platform records the completion date, sends the completion email, and releases the certificate.

  • “The participant says they finished but it shows 90%”: there is almost always an activity that was not opened (a video never started, a skipped module) - the per-module progress review shows where it is missing.
  • Need to restart someone from scratch? Use the progress restart - see Evaluations and final exam.
  • Manually changing an enrollment’s score has an immediate effect on completion: if the new score reaches the class’s minimum passing score, the enrollment is marked as completed (100% progress), the certificate is issued, and the ranking points are awarded; if the score drops below the minimum, a certificate and points already awarded are revoked. This action cannot be undone.
