The Text, Bubbles and FAQ lecture types

Text, Bubbles and FAQ are three of the simplest lecture types in the modular content editor: none of them depends on a video upload or an external service, and all three use the same formatted text editor for the written content.

The Text lecture

Formatted text, with images and links, filling the lecture’s centre column - the default way to explain anything: theory, instructions, or context before a video.

Adding the lecture

1. In the modular content editor, click Add new lecture to this topic and choose Text, in the Content section of the type picker.
2. Write the content in the editor. It is Eduvem’s full editor: headings, bold, lists, links and inline images. Use shift+enter to break a line without starting a new paragraph.
3. Optionally, check Show text inside a box with the main theme color, to set the text apart from the lecture’s background.

Note

The text column’s width is capped, even on wide screens, so long passages stay readable. The Text type depends on no external service and uses no storage beyond the text itself and any images inserted into it.

How the participant sees it

The text appears centred in the lecture. With the box checked, the text sits inside a coloured box using the content’s main theme colour; without it, the text appears directly on the lecture’s background.

The Bubbles lecture

A dialogue in alternating speech bubbles, each one with a round image beside it - use it when the content is a conversation: a case study, a support scenario, or a dialogue between two people.

Adding the lecture

1. In the modular content editor, click Add new lecture to this topic and choose Bubbles, in the Content section of the type picker.
2. Write the First bubble text, in the formatted text editor. Short sentences work best - a very long bubble covers the image beside it.
3. Adjust the Bubble margin, from -25 to 25, to move the bubble closer to or further from the image. Zero keeps the default spacing; use this field only when the bubble sits too close to the image or too far from it.
4. Choose the First bubble alignment: left (default), center or right.
5. Upload the First bubble image - usually a photo or a character. Images with a transparent background (PNG) look best.
6. Optionally, click Add second bubble to build a full dialogue: the first bubble asks, the second answers. The second bubble has the same fields as the first (text, image, alignment - right by default), plus the Second bubble color: a background colour different from the first one, to tell the two voices apart. With no colour set, the second bubble uses the main theme colour.

Tip

The Bubbles lecture is static content: the participant reads the dialogue but answers nothing - unlike a question lecture.

How the participant sees it

The bubbles appear side by side with their images, in the main theme colour (or in the colour set for the second bubble, when there is one). With only one bubble configured, the lecture shows just it; with both, the full dialogue appears.

The FAQ lecture

A list of questions, each with its answer right below, all visible at once - use it at the end of a module, to answer in one place the questions that always come up.

Adding the lecture

1. In the modular content editor, click Add new lecture to this topic and choose FAQ, in the Content section of the type picker.
2. Click the + icon to add a question. Write the Question and, right below it, the Answer - both in the formatted text editor.
3. Repeat for as many questions as needed; there is no limit on the count.
4. To reorder, drag a question by its card to the desired position.
5. To remove a question, click the trash icon and confirm. At least one question must remain in the lecture - the remove button is disabled when only one is left.

Note

Despite the name, the FAQ lecture is not an accordion: every answer stays open at the same time, with no need to click to expand each one.

How the participant sees it

Each question becomes a card: the question as a heading, with the answer right below it, inside a box using the main theme colour. Every card appears open, in the order set in the editor.
