Manager hierarchy
Eduvem can maintain a manager hierarchy: who reports to whom, within your institution. When this is active, anyone who has people reporting to them gets their own screen, “My team”, showing the progress of their whole reporting line - direct and indirect reports. The feature ships off by default; no reporting-line surface appears anywhere until an institution administrator turns it on.

Turning it on
Section titled “Turning it on”In the institution’s Optional features section, enable Reporting line (“My team”)?. With the field off, nothing changes for anyone: the Import reporting line entry does not appear in the Participants menu, the Manager field does not appear on each person’s record, and the “My team” screen stays unavailable even for people with reports.
Setting each person’s manager
Section titled “Setting each person’s manager”There are three ways to link a manager to a person, and they can all be combined:
From the person’s record
Section titled “From the person’s record”On each participant’s record (Participants > select the person), the Manager field shows the current manager, or “Not defined” if there is none. Next to it are three icon buttons (hover to see each name): View manager’s profile opens the manager’s record, Change opens a window to pick someone else (the search accepts a username, e-mail or CPF, and suggestions appear as soon as you stop typing) and Remove manager unlinks, after asking for confirmation.
In the Participants list, the Manager column shows each person’s manager name - or their username, if the name is not filled in yet - as a link to the manager’s record. The link and the View manager’s profile button only appear when you are allowed to administer that manager.
From the bulk import
Section titled “From the bulk import”On Participants > Import reporting line, paste one person;manager pair per line - both sides accept a username, e-mail or CPF. Click Load to check the pairs before confirming: lines outside the person;manager format are listed as skipped, and the valid pairs appear in a table with their line number. When you click Import, if a person or manager is not found, or a hierarchy rule is broken, a table shows each failing line with its error. The import is all or nothing - if any line is invalid, nothing is applied until every line is valid. The limit is 5,000 pairs per import.
From the integration API
Section titled “From the integration API”External systems (HR, ERP) can set the manager when creating or updating a user, through the managerIdentifier field (the manager’s username, e-mail or CPF). Omitting the field leaves the current link unchanged; sending an empty string removes the manager. See your institution’s API documentation for the full schema of the users endpoint.
Hierarchy rules
Section titled “Hierarchy rules”A few rules protect the reporting line’s integrity, and they apply whether the manager is set from the person’s record, the bulk import, or the API:
- No cycles: two people cannot manage each other, directly or through the chain above them.
- Maximum depth of 20 levels: the hierarchy cannot go deeper than that.
- Nobody can be their own manager.
- Deleted people cannot be linked as a manager or as a report. When a person is deleted, their own link to their manager and the links of anyone who reported to them are removed automatically.
What the manager sees
Section titled “What the manager sees”As soon as someone has at least one report, direct or indirect, the “My team” screen appears for them - see My team for what it shows. With enrollment management active, the manager also approves or denies their team’s enrollment requests there.
